Student Job Opportunities
Resident Assistants (RAs) are students who serve in the residence halls as a resource for their residents. The primary function of an RA is to build community and relationships with residents through programming, individualized support, campus resource information, and academic encouragement. RAs are available to provide general information, support, and make appropriate referrals as needed. There are six primary areas of responsibility:
- Facilitate the Development of Community
- Develop Individual Relationships with Residents
- Promote Safe, Respectful, and Academically Conducive Environments
- Foster Intentional Learning and Development of Residents
- Be a Productive Member of the Staff Team
- Develop and Demonstrate Positive and Ethical Leadership and Professional Skills
Through these responsibilities, RAs are expected to uphold the goals and mission of the Well-Being Roadmap through wellness dimension programming, and wellness interactions with each of their residents.

Information sessions will be held October 13 through November 14 to provide information about the RA role, the selection process, and what it’s like to be an RA! Attendees will meet with current RAs and Hall Directors to have their questions answered. Attendance at one interest session is MANDATORY to be considered for the 2026-2027 RA position.
Be sure to arrive early and bring your Buzzcard! Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late will not have their attendance counted.
If you are unable to attend an interest session due to extenuating circumstances including, but not limited to, study abroad or out of town co-ops, reach out to staffselection@housing.gatech.edu.
If you received an alternate offer for the 2025-2026 term, your alternate offer will remain active through May 2026, meaning you could still be hired during the Spring 2026 term.
If you are interested in serving as an RA for the 2026-2027 term, you must apply again.
Students who are studying abroad or co-oping out of town during the Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 term can apply for the 2026-2027 term. Please note that students selected for the RA position must be available to work on Georgia Tech’s campus both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
If you are abroad or co-oping out-of-town during the Fall 2025 term, reach out to staffselection@housing.gatech.edu to receive information about attending a mandatory interest session. If you are abroad or co-oping out-of-town during the Spring 2026 term, reach out to staffselection@housing.gatech.edu to arrange a virtual interview.
